At some point on the afternoon of November 26, 2011 the server hosting leetneet.com was attacked. Our (former) hosting provider, inMotion Hosting, which has failed to provide security multiple times before reacted to this not by defending against the problem but rather by suspending our hosting account.

As a response to their lack of professionalism and quality of service we will be requiring a new host. Unfortunately we will face large amounts of data loss. If you have created an account with us on or after October 18, 2011 you will have to create it again. We are also missing all articles from this past week.

We apologize for the inconveniences but as you can see our previous hosting company sucked so much that we had no choice in our actions. Do not worry, your data (rather what's left of it) has not been exposed to others. Hopefully we'll be back up and running soon.

Things have gotten quite busy around here lately and we've got a lot of changes in store. You're probably wondering what we do in between articles. Here's a rundown of how things will affect you.

Starting Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 12:01 AM EST, the leetNEET Forums will no longer be accessible. The reason behind this is they aren't in use and are occupying a server that can be used for other purposes. When asked to comment on the situation, that majority of staff members agreed that it's about time the forums got the ax.

Aside from that, you may have noticed polls on the site lately. If you participated we've tallied your opinions and are going to make a few changes. Firstly, we'd like to announce the creation of a new section to cover manga. A lot of people are enthusiastic about manga and feel the site would be more complete if it covered manga as well as Anime. Secondly, we'll be adding in a community blogging feature. After some discussion and voting, the idea will come to pass and will hopefully be ready for use by March or April.

Finally, on more informal note, convention season is just around the corner. We'll be hitting the convention circuit this year in order to bring you more interesting stories. It'd be great if we ran in to some of you in the field! Be sure to stop us and chat if you ever see us at an event.

A LETTER TO OUR READERS

December 31st, 2010

It's hard to believe it's already been 2 years since this project started, and 1.5 since we officially became leetNEET. You're probably wondering why we're making such a big deal about this now. This year was our first full year of operation, and on top of that it's really been something special.

In the last year I've met so many great people and had so many experiences, that it's impossible to name each and every one. Covering anime conventions, reviewing masochistic games, checking out movies and writing about generic weirdness is not something I ever saw myself doing. But now, I can't imagine life without it.

Of course, none of this was possible alone. There are a lot of people that need to be thanked. Firstly, thanks to all of our current and former staff, especially all of our copy editors, without their work we would never have made it this far. I also need to thank the guys who hang out in our IRC channel for making everyday more interesting than the last. Also a big thanks to TAO69, SayuriMatsuri for helping me keep things running smoothly from day to day and our good friends in the fansubbing world (Gao Subs & Phantom Subs) for knowing Japanese when we don't. Most importantly, I must thank you, the readers for checking us out every day on twitter and facebook, telling your friends about us and letting us know what you're interested in.

Last but not least, I have to thank RPEG Electronics for donating a very generous hosting package to us, allowing us to handle more users as well as not go down every time some loads a page (like we used to).

The last year's definitely been something special, but next year will be even better! Aside from covering our first major , we also launched a youtube channel, made various changes to the site's layout and added a few new features like photo galleries. If we could do all that, there's no reason why we can't go further. Let's set the bar high for 2011.
