It seems like Shin Megami Tensei fans will have to wait a bit for Persona 4: The Golden. This Vita version of the original PS2 game was announced last year, and is being released in Japan next month, but Atlus has announced that the North American version will not hit store shelves until Fall 2012. This is kind of disappointing, but I have faith that Atlus is bringing an amazing localization to the table. In addition to the dozens of hours of content from the original game, Persona 4: The Golden will feature a brand new character, and new story bits, making it one hefty package, so I'm sure it will be worth the wait. A strange bit of news, however, is about the trademark information for the game. Apparently, the Xbox 360 and its Kinect peripheral are listed in the trademark information for Persona 4: The Golden. I doubt this means anything, since it's a handheld port, but you never know. Check back for more news!

Halo 4's Release Date Announced

Microsoft has released some news today that's sure to make Halo fans really happy. 343 Industries has announced that Halo 4 will be released on November 6, 2012. There's no word on whether this date is a worldwide release date, or just for the USA. Halo 4 is the first game in a new trilogy for the Halo series, and the first sequel in the series to be developed by a studio other than Bungie. Despite being a new trilogy, it picks up where Halo 3 left off, with the Master Chief and Cortana stranded in space, heading towards an unknown planet.

Lost Planet 3 Announced

A pleasent surprise came from Capcom today with their announcement of Lost Planet 3. The Lost Planet series was created by Kenji Oguro, and never really reached the same popularity as Capcom's other franchises, such as Devil May Cry or Street Fighter. However, Lost Planet 1 and 2 were very solid games; the former was an early next-gen title that really showed off the power hardware. Lost Planet 2 came out years later, and focused on large scale coop battles and multiplayer. This time, the game is a prequel to the first one, and it brings back the original game's barren, arctic environments. In addition, Capcom has said that the series' mechs are returning, and that your character will be able to enter and leave his mech at anytime throughout most of the game. With an emphasis on story for singleplayer and a full multiplayer suite, it seems like Capcom is trying their best to make the biggest, most complete Lost Planet game. Lost Planet 3 is being directed by Kenji Oguro, and devloped at Spark Unlimited, a western studio. The game will be released in 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Good news for Phantasy Star fans. Phantasy Star Online 2, the sequel to the legendary online RPG, will be completely free to play. That's right, even the game itself will be free. Sega has announced that the game will have a cash shop instead of monthly subscription fees. Sega has also announced that the game will also be coming out for the Vita in 2013, and that a special version will be made for iOS and Android platforms. There is no word as to when these mobile versions will be released. Sega will be holding a closed beta for Japanese players sometime in the coming months, and the final version of the game will be released soon after. A North American release has not been announced yet. Check back for more PSO2 news!

Diablo III Release Date Announced

The wait is almost over for Diablo fans. Earlier today, Blizzard announced that Diablo III will finally be released in North America on May 15th, 2012, and the international versions will be released on June 7th. This extremely anticipated game will be available for Mac and PC, both physically and digitally. Rest assured, Diablo fans, we've played the beta and it's great.

Over the past year, Sega has been re-releasing some popular Dreamcast games on downloadable platforms. Following the latest announcement of Jet Set Radio HD for XBLA, PSN, and Steam, Sega has been asked about their future plans for this new trend. Sega responded by saying the two most asked-for games are Skies of Arcadia, and Shenmue. According to an interview with Gamereactor UK, they may or may not be working on them. Sounds like they're teasing us. If you're a Sega fan, this year might turn out to have some amazing releases.

There are little to no details on this game, so stick around until we learn more info.
