Good news for Phantasy Star fans. Phantasy Star Online 2, the sequel to the legendary online RPG, will be completely free to play. That's right, even the game itself will be free. Sega has announced that the game will have a cash shop instead of monthly subscription fees. Sega has also announced that the game will also be coming out for the Vita in 2013, and that a special version will be made for iOS and Android platforms. There is no word as to when these mobile versions will be released. Sega will be holding a closed beta for Japanese players sometime in the coming months, and the final version of the game will be released soon after. A North American release has not been announced yet. Check back for more PSO2 news!
Earlier this week, Capcom announced that they are developing a new sequel to the ever popular Ace Attorney series. There are little to no details on this game, so stick around until we learn more info. It can be safely assumed, however, that this game will be released for the 3DS, as all of the Ace Attorney games have been developed for Nintendo handhelds. The other big announcement is that Capcom is developing HD versions of the first three Ace Attorney games for iOS and Android devices. Finally, Capcom shows Android some love!
I can say that once these games are released, you'd be doing yourself a great service if you get them. The Ace Attorney games have some great stories and charming characters, and you're missing out on a lot if you haven't played them yet.
Today's post will be a new thing for me. I will be combining this past week's gaming news into one easy to digest article. I hope everyone likes it!
This week has been an interesting week for gaming fans. It's the week leading up to the release of the 3DS, which has everyone (including me) extremely hyped. Crysis 2 was also released, and critics have been calling its campaign as one of the greatest single-player experiences around.

Final Fantasy III's popular DS interpretation has been ported to iOS based devices. Square-Enix is selling it for $15.99 which is a bit pricey for an iOS app/game, but take it from me; this game lasts a long time.
Ubisoft's Splinter Cell Trilogy, a collection of the main Splinter Cell trilogy displaying in high-def resolutions, was delayed this week. It will be released for the PS3 on June 21st.
