Earlier this week, Capcom announced that they are developing a new sequel to the ever popular Ace Attorney series. There are little to no details on this game, so stick around until we learn more info. It can be safely assumed, however, that this game will be released for the 3DS, as all of the Ace Attorney games have been developed for Nintendo handhelds. The other big announcement is that Capcom is developing HD versions of the first three Ace Attorney games for iOS and Android devices. Finally, Capcom shows Android some love!
I can say that once these games are released, you'd be doing yourself a great service if you get them. The Ace Attorney games have some great stories and charming characters, and you're missing out on a lot if you haven't played them yet.
Good news for all of the 3DS's early adopters. There's finally a release date, and a list of the free Gameboy Advance games that will be available to 3DS Ambassadors. Nintendo's Europe and Japan divisions have both stated that they will be releasing the GBA games on Friday, December 16th. These games will only be available to 3DS Ambassadors, and it is unclear as to whether they will be released on the Virtual Console store later on. Nintendo of America has yet to confirm that the games will be coming out in the USA on the same date. Check out the full list of games below.
New Yorkers rejoice! Well, those who like Mario, at least. Then again, that's probably everyone. So, New Yorkers rejoice! Celebrating the release of Super Mario 3D Land, set for US release on November 13, Nintendo is bring Mario-related celebrations to Times Square in New York City one day before the release.
Nintendo is known for having some great game launches, so how are they handling their flagship character? By turning Times Square into the Mushroom Kingdom. Guests will nab Tanooki ears and tails while running through green pipes, grabbing coins, and leaping towards the famous flag pole. In pure Nintendo fashion, the Big N will be handing out game-related food. The first 1,000 guests to tweet at the event using the #SuperMario3D hashtag will able to munch on a slice of Mushroom Pizza! Oh, you clever, clever people!
Think that is already great? Think again! Toys 'R Us in Times Square will be holding a limited sale of the game one day early. Sounds pretty amazing. So if you're in the area on November 12 at 10 AM, why not stop by and pretend you're Mario* for a while?

Mega Man co-designer and former Global Head of Production at Capcom, Keiji Inafune, has announced a brand new action-RPG for the Nintendo 3DS. It's called King of Pirates, or KAIO in Japan, and it's the first game by his new company. Multiplayer is confirmed, and it has been slated for a general "2012" release date. There's already an English press release and an official English website, so it's safe to say the game will be coming to North America and Europe. A story trailer, complete with English subtitles, has been released. So far, there are no further details.
Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney lives! Last we heard about the game was almost a year ago at Level-5's Vision press conference in October 2010. Now a new trailer has been released for the game. While it is in Japanese, I have managed to acquire a subbed version of the trailer so you can actually understand what's going on! Prepare a change of pants, people. Here it is...
There you have it. The greatest duo since peanut butter and something that goes really well with it (jelly isn't good enough to match, IMO) is coming to the 3DS! Too bad it's only being released in Japa-
OR IS IT?!
Rumor has it that the game may be released outside of Japan! GamesRadar picked up a press release at TGS that had the line "English names are TBD." Do you know what this means?! Hope! Actual hope! Obviously, this is only a rumor and it should be taken with a truckload of salt, but it's nice to know that Level-5 and Capcom may remember that we exist. And that we have money to give them.
Make it happen... Please?
Found in a Famitsu Magazine article, there is a small section for Monster Hunter 3 G which showcases the Slide Pad attachment for the Nintendo DS. Written as 拡張スライドパッド / Kakuchou Slide Pad or "Slide Pad Expansion", the attachment gives it an additional pad on the right side and makes it that much more clunky to carry around and use. However, it is said that the Slide Pad is simple to install; it's as easy as mounting the 3DS onto the Slide Pad, holding it in place on the hinges in the back. It is long overdue to add this second pad, but better late than never... if it's cheap.
There is no mention of the cost or release date for this thing, but after the 3DS price cut, this (hopefully optional) accessory might be a factor in bumping the prices back up there.
Nintendo doesn't want the flood of new info on the 3DS to stop. Two weeks ago, a price cut to from $249 to $169 was announced for August 12. To avoid any backlash from early adopters, anyone who registers their 3DS before that date would be enrolled into their Ambassador Program, a program that would grant 20 free NES and GBA games (10 of which are exclusive) to all of the members of the program. This had people talking for a while, but since the announcement was made so long ago, people are moving on to other things to discuss. Now Nintendo wants to bring back interest by announcing a new color for the 3DS, "Flame Red".
While Japan has had the color for some time already, the US will be able to enjoy the new color on September 9, along with the release of Star Fox 3D on the same day.
The past few months haven't been very nice to the 3DS. With a lacking library, slow adoption rate, and still appearing to similar to the DS, the 3DS has been slow to start. However, with the $80 price cut, new games such as Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D, and the delay of the US release of the Playstation Vita to 2012, the holidays could bring brighter days for Nintendo.
P.S. Where's the news on the orange, purple, and gold colors?
Tales fans rejoice, you'll soon get a chance to play Namco-Bandai's critically acclaimed Tales of the Abyss, in 3D. The company has promised to re-release the Playstation 2 hit in Japan on the new Nintendo 3DS system. What's even better than that though is that North America will be receiving a port of the game this fall. So whether you're a die hard fan hoping to pick up the all the cel-shaded nostalgia this game holds or someone completely new to the series, one things for sure if you've got a 3DS and are a fan of RPG's this is one title you don't want to miss.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is an important game for many gamers. Being the first game in the already popular series to include 3D graphics, the game is noted for being one of the best transitions from 2D to 3D. For perfecting the Zelda formula in a new dimension, and being one of the biggest games made during its time, it's often revered as the greatest, or one of the greatest games of all time. That's why many fans were (and perhaps, still are) skeptical when Nintendo announced they would be releasing it for the 3DS, complete with new graphics and extras. After playing it since its release date, I can say one thing: don't be.
Yay for box art censorship!
Dead or Alive has always been a series known for its quick fights, ninjas, and exaggerated sexuality. Dimensions, the newest addition to the series and the first non-spinoff handheld game, is pretty much a love letter to the fans. It has every character from Dead or Alive 4 and some more, along with a collection of stages from the third and fourth games. It's pretty much the Director's Cut version, with bonus features, online play, and a brand new story mode. And it's absolutely perfect for the Nintendo 3DS.
