Nintendo doesn't want the flood of new info on the 3DS to stop. Two weeks ago, a price cut to from $249 to $169 was announced for August 12. To avoid any backlash from early adopters, anyone who registers their 3DS before that date would be enrolled into their Ambassador Program, a program that would grant 20 free NES and GBA games (10 of which are exclusive) to all of the members of the program. This had people talking for a while, but since the announcement was made so long ago, people are moving on to other things to discuss. Now Nintendo wants to bring back interest by announcing a new color for the 3DS, "Flame Red".
While Japan has had the color for some time already, the US will be able to enjoy the new color on September 9, along with the release of Star Fox 3D on the same day.
The past few months haven't been very nice to the 3DS. With a lacking library, slow adoption rate, and still appearing to similar to the DS, the 3DS has been slow to start. However, with the $80 price cut, new games such as Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D, and the delay of the US release of the Playstation Vita to 2012, the holidays could bring brighter days for Nintendo.
P.S. Where's the news on the orange, purple, and gold colors?
