leetNEET's Top 10 Games of the Year 2011

It wouldn’t be a new year without a top 10 list, so I’ve decided to make one. 2011 was, in my opinion, a defining year for this generation of gaming, and while it brought some disappointments, like everything Capcom did throughout the entire year, I played some games that I will never forget. Here’s the list of my personal favorite games from 2011.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is one of the most anticipated PS3 games of the year, and the sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2009. The series is well known for its cinematic characteristics and well paced single player campaigns. In Uncharted 2, Naughty Dog brought its fans a robust multiplayer mode, complete with both competitive and cooperative gameplay modes and a leveling system. The beta just ended, and I'm here to give you a preview of the improved multiplayer portion of the game!

Uncharted 3's beta began earlier this month, and the first thing players will noticed is the improved pre-game interface. Players are allowed to choose their player model for both teams, just like in Uncharted 2, but this time you may unlock gears to customize your character's look. Each character has his or her own set of items to equip, which seem to cause no in-game effect. I was unable to figure out the amount of items that will be available, since the beta's selection was extremely limited. There are also perks, a-la Call of Duty, but they suit the game well, and don't feel like a huge ripoff. The interface also sports a cool feature that hasn't been seen in many games, Uncharted TV. It's a window that sits in the lower right corner of the menu, playing different videos related to the game. It can be muted, unmuted, and stretched according to the player's preferences. This feature may seem annoying and unwanted, but it adds a sense of activity and community to the game.
