It may be the dead of winter here in New York but somewhere deep inside, we're all "waiting for summer". Conveniently Crunchyroll has grabbed up our hopes in their latest round of simulcasting announcements. Crunchy will be simulcasting upcoming 12 episode winter anime, Ano Natsu de Matteru (Waiting in the Summer) starting January 11, 2012. Furthermore, Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for digital distribution and DVD release later this year.

The series, which premieres January 9th in Japan, is being storyboarded by Onegai Teacher's Yousuke Kuroda, with original charachter design by fellow Onegai-staff Taraku Uon. If that isn't enough to get you expecting great things, Ano Natsu will be directed by Tatsuyuku Naga with charachter design by Masayoshi Tanaka (who previously worked together to bring us Toradora! and Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai). Check out an official description and trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy below.

Alliterations aside, as if it were unexpected, Crunchyroll will be simulcasting the series starting January 7, 2012 at 12 PM EST. It seems like Sentai has a lot of confidence in the series to license it for BluRay before it even airs. Check out a brief description of the series and a trailer below and let us know what you think.
