During a 20th anniversary event at Tokyo's Nicofarre hall earlier today, idol group Momoiro Clover Z, publishing company Kodansha, and Sailor Moon creator Naoko Takeuchi announced that the Sailor Moon manga would be receiving a new anime adaptation in Summer 2013. While little is known at the time of writing this article, the following details have been confirmed: The new anime project will not be a film, and the new series' opening theme will be sung by Momoiro Clover Z who performed the first Sailor Moon anime's opening theme song. According to Oricon, while nothing is set in stone in terms of the new anime being broadcasted on television, it will be released worldwide simultaneously. UPDATE: Comic Natalie is reporting that the opening theme of the new series will be called "Z Otome Shinsou" and will be performed by Momoiro Clover Z.
