With people falling into televisions and a mysterious string of deaths. Persona 4 starts off with a bang. Starring the protagonist Male MC (Main Character) from the Persona 4 game and the characters accurately transcribed from game to anime series, the anime adaptation of the game has just aired its fourth episode.

Persona 4 anime is an action, suspense, mystery, sci-fi, fantasy anime that delves into psychology. The anime examines social issues such as how one views / expresses oneself based on the standards of society while forcing individuals to acknowledge the less desirable parts of themselves. This is evident in episode two in which Yosuke Hanamura encounters his persona and has to accept his shadow (essentially a summation of everything he rejects about himself due to society and appearances).

Plot: 5/5
It's a Persona Anime and Atlus has its hands all over the anime. Persona 4 deals with the supernatural as with the first episode in which Chie, MC, and Yosuke accidentally enter the Television in Junes (the electronic store of which Yosuke's father owns) entering into the midnight channel. What occurs in the midnight channel has a direct correlation to what occurs in real life for the characters. You can expect an epic anime with mystery, adventure, action, fantasy, as well as truly memorable characters.

Characters: 4.5/5
The characters from Persona 4 are truly memorable because a big part of the series revolves around MC and his friends and their psyche. In episode 2 Yosuke confronts his shadow which is the culmination of the parts of himself that he has chosen to reject due to how society views him and ultimately has to come to grips with the darker side of himself. MC in the Persona 4 video game did not say much and has little to no characterization in the anime. While there is some characterization it's not enough to consider it significant. Chie and Yosuke were both translated quite aptly however their archetypes in the anime have been done over and over again. Though Atlus differentiates its characters by giving them depth the repeated archetypes are why I slight the anime a little bit.

Music: 5/5
The music style is unique to Atlus and the Persona games as being a mix of pop, hip hop, jazz, and classical. The combination of styles creates a refreshing style of music that is truly complimentary to the anime and highly addictive to listen to as well.

Visuals/Graphics: 5/5
Graphically Persona 4 is stunning. The art style is unique to Atlus and the Persona series. The graphics are highly rated due to the use of color to differentiate the real world from the midnight channel. With the classic bright colored animation for the real life part of the series to the Midnight channel in which the art and the background calls for an industrial overtone utilizing a darker pallet of colors. Each character has a truly unique look and feel through the choice of their apparel as well as the character designs that truly distinguish them from characters in other anime.

Overall: 4.9/5
Persona 4 with its first four episodes have made a truly strong impact and is definitely a series to follow. It has great music which complements the series, stunning visuals, interesting character development, but it also has a interesting deep plot. I highly recommend this series. It is a unique series and everyone ought to try it.
