Hayate Gets Taiwanese Live Action Adaptaton

Written by

The Gala Television Corp., a Taiwanese broadcasting and production company, announced on Tuesday that they're making a live action adaptation of Hayate no Gotoku (Hayate the Combat Butler). The live action will be based on the manga by Kenjirou Hata, which already has 2 anime adaptations. (Season 1 ran 52 episodes. Season 2 ran 25 episodes and had 1 OVA.)

Hayate no Gotoku follows a young boy named Hayate who becomes a young girl's butler to repay his parent's ¥156,804,000 (approx. 1.8 million USD) debt. At first he tries to kidnap her but she mistakes it for a confession of love causing hilarity and misunderstandings to ensue throughout the series. Hayate will be played by 28 year old George Hu and Nagi will be played by 20 year old Korean actress Shin-Hye Park.

Editor's Note: AdminX absolutely loves Hayate and will look forward to watching this... somehow. Uh... time to learn Taiwanese? Also header image source with white balance applied.
